LEARNet Problem-Solving System:

Remembering Mark Ylvisaker

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of our friend and colleague Dr. Mark Ylvisaker. Over the course of his 35 year career, Mark gained worldwide distinction for his ground-breaking approaches to brain injury rehabilitation and his clinical work with children and adolescents with disabilities. His creativity and vision were fundamental to the conceptualization and implementation of LEARNet and Project LEARN, and his extraordinary knowledge and experience are reflected in every component of this resource. Mark was known and respected throughout the world for his boundless optimism and his passionate commitment to his work, to the people he supported, and for his unique ability to help individuals with disabilities, families, and professionals overcome barriers and achieve success in life. While his professional skills were extraordinary, Mark’s integrity, warm personality and positive outlook often had the greatest impact on others. He will be sorely missed.
